I have decided that I might as well blog about my knitting. It seems the thing to do when one is internet savvy AND a knitter. So, here I am.

I've been knitting about a year. I learned when I was 13, but I stopped when I graduated high school. My tension was such that I rubbed blisters on my fingers, which might have had something to do with it. On the other hand, my dad kept sitting on my (metal) needles, and for some reason had a problem with that. I didn't want to keep replacing the needles he'd bend and throw away!

Almost a year ago, I decided to pick it up again. I really didn't knit much when I was a kid, slippers, and a pretty bad scarf. When I picked it back up, one of my first big projects (after 2 scarves) was a felted bag. It's beautiful, and I use it to cart around my knitting. As soon as I can figure out how to get a picture from my cell onto my computer (really, it isn't THAT difficult!) I will post it. I did a striped pattern out of 4 different colors that fades from dark green to light. I've gotten a bunch of compliments.

Since then I've done scarves, hats, gloves (lots of fun!) and socks on DPNs. Contrary to how they look, DPNs really aren't that bad. But having said that, I've gotten a hankering to try out the magic loop method. I've also been working monthly patterns from my local yarn shop to make an afghan. I've got October's blocks to finish up before the 13. I'll post pictures of those, as well.

On Friday, at 11:30 I received my invitation to Ravelry! If you haven't heard, Ravelry is an organizational and community website for fiber artists. I've been really excited about it- it's great to see what other people are doing with patterns I've seen or started!

Well, enough for now.... I will write again soon! I'm off to figure out getting pics from my camera to my computer! Of course, it really ISN'T hard... and I have done it before. I think.
